Firehouse Subs opens today in Centennial
Firehouse Subs opened today at 9445 East County Line Road in Centennial, its first location in that town. Each Firehouse franchise has a handpainted mural by Joe Puskas, who's created 680 murals since the first Firehouse Subs opened in 1994. The one in this spot depicts the South Metro Fire Rescue team extinguishing the flames of a fire at Park Meadows Mall and leading the children of franchise owners Jessica and Todd Gimbel (above, in front of mural) to safety.

The fire is fictitious, by the way; the franchisees just wanted to emphasize the impact of the South Metro Fire Department in their community. More memorabilia from South Metro decorates the restaurant; former firefighters started the chain.
The Centennial store will be open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
