Guess where I'm eating pork belly and pickled mustard greens?

Our server is incredulous. "Really? You want the pork belly? Most Americans don't order the pork belly. You're positive you want the pork belly?" she asks, entirely positive that we'd prefer kung pao chicken instead. When we assure her that yes, we want the pork belly, which is listed on the "secret" Chinese menu, she breaks into a wide smile before rushing back to the kitchen to give our order to the cook, who sends out a complimentary scallion pancake in apparent gratitude. But it's we who should be thanking him, because the fatty strips of pig crack are fantastic, as are the pickled mustard greens below it.

Can you guess where I'm eating?

Don't have a guess.  But curious to find out the answer as well.

Anywhere other Chinese, Thai, or other Asian restaurants to try with "secret" menus beyond the usual Americanized offerings of sesame chicken or pad thai?

I don't know where they're from but I cannot wait to find out. This dish is SO up my alley it's not even funny.

These are from China Taipei on South Quebec. Their stir-fried sticky rice cakes (Nian Gao) are also delicious.

@_____ Besides the ones I mentioned previously, Shanghai Kitchen in Englewood would be another idea for you.

@_____ Hi there,

You might know some of these already but the Denver/Aurora secret-menu places that come to mind are China Taipei, Chef Liu's [where Rainbow used to be in Aurora], China Jade [the one in Aurora] and Lucky China [next to M-Mart in Aurora].

@_____ Five Spice in Boulder has a "secret" menu (not really secret, but not Americanized).  Pretty good.

@_____ Now, I should qualify this by saying that at some of these places it's not exactly a secret. But you know what I'm saying :)
