Glazed and Confuzed moves storefront opening date to April

Glazed and Confuzed plans to open its storefront in April.
Those who were eager to visit a Glazed and Confuzed doughnut shop this fall, when the brick-and-mortar version of the truck was originally scheduled to open, will have to wait until the new year. The process of getting permits and then doing build-up have delayed the opening until at least next spring. But in the meantime, fans of owner Josh Shwab's doughnut creations can get their fix at various coffee shops around town.

When we last checked in with Glazed and Confuzed headquarters, the shop was supposed to open in November. That didn't happen, obviously, but the doughnut-makers have kept busy catering events, office parties and weddings.

They haven't set an exact date for the opening, but they plan to be ready to satisfy Denver's sweet tooth on April 20. "We've met with an architect, we have the design done. Now we are waiting for it to go through the city to get approved, so that takes about two and a half months," Shwab explains. "Once it comes back and we get all our permits and everything, it's two more months to build out."

In the meantime, Glazed is expanding to coffee shops around town, trying to have a presence in each neighborhood. It's currently its gourmet doughnuts at the following shops:

Wednesdays: Weathervane Cafe (including gluten free doughnuts)
Fridays: Pablo's Coffee, Under the Umbrella Cafe and Bakery (including gluten free)
Saturdays: Pablo's Coffee, Kaladi Brothers Coffee, Enchanted Grounds (including the popular puffy nut doughnut), Rocky's Coffee and Burritos (located on the corner of Coal Mine Avenue and South Pierce Street in Littleton)
Sundays: Weathervane Cafe (including puffy nuts), Pablo's Coffee

Glazed and Confuzed is available for catering and special orders, and encourages its customers to come up with ideas for flavor combinations.
