West Flanders Brewing in Boulder has started a Single Keg series, in which is brews a small-batch one-off beer, and this week's is Brett on the Broncos, an "AFC Champion Style Ale." In reality, the beer is a blend of the brewery's Obfuscation Trippel and its Angry Monk Belgian-style golden ale, which was fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. At 7.2 percent ABV, the brewery says "this beer is much too strong of a match for New England-style chowder or Boston-baked beans."

Friday, January 17

TRVE Brewing will tap Decibrew today at 7:06 p.m., which the brewery made in conjunction with the "Brewtal Truth" column in Decibel magazine. The beers is described as "a burly German weizenbock brewed under the sign of evil...the name loosely translates as 'wheat goat.' The bock style originated as a strong lager, but this is actually a strong wheat ale and the special Bavarian yeast used to brew it produces some interesting flavors. It is a hefty, malty 7 percent ABV beast of a beer."

Did you think Ugly Sweater season was over? Then you thought wrong. Parry's Pizza -- the Castle Rock location -- is having one last Ugly Sweaters & Barrel Aged Beers Party starting at 5:30 p.m. today. You must be wearing your ugliest sweater to gain access to the barrel aged beauties that include: Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, Boulder Beer's I Am The Eggman, Epic's Big Bad Baptist, Backcountry Breakfast Stout, Renegade Black and Gold, River North Barrel Aged Avarice, and more.
