Dulce Vida is taking over former Cherokee Grill space
After several false starts, the Cherokee Grill space finally has an occupant: Dulce Vida, which will open next month and plans to be the next neighborhood bar in the Golden Triangle.
Jason Tietjen of the Dive Inn, along with some partners, bought the building at 1201 Cherokee Street, which they're in the process of transforming into a space that will "walk that fine line between a bar and a restaurant," he says.
"I would like to say it's a neighborhood bar," Tietjen adds. "We're just going to be a Golden Triangle neighborhood bar that serves reasonably priced food and reasonably priced drinks."
Although Dulce Vida will be more of a bar than a restaurant, with giant TVs and games, Tietjen promises that they aren't taking taking short cuts with the food. There will be an accomplished chef in the kitchen, and a full menu will roll out in the weeks after the bar opens.
"It'll have a little bit of everything," Tietjen says.
