Kobe An Shabu Shabu could start swishing in February
Strolling through lower LoHi this weekend, we stopped by 3400 Osage to check on the transformation of the former Little Pepina's to Kobe An. Since this spot applied for its liquor license, it's subtracted "Japanese Fondue" and added "Shabu Shabu" to its name -- not just to indicate what will be a featured menu item, but also to differentiate this spot from Kobe An in Lakewood.
According to Kobe An Shabu Shabu's Facebook page,"Shabu Shabu is the Japanese version of fondue. It consists of thinly sliced beef and vegetables cooked at your table and served with 2 delicious dipping sauces along with steamed rice. It is a healthy and hearty meal. Shabu shabu translates to 'swish, swish,' referring to the way the beef is cooked by swishing it in the pot."
Sukiyaki will also be a featured menu item.
After a few delays, Kobe An Shabu Shabu is now shooting for an early February opening.
