Located at 1617 California Street, this shop features the chain's signature homemade bread and Colorado brews on tap, as well as some Colorado-friendly touches in the space itself: beetle-kill pine, reclaimed corrugated siding, in-house recycling.

This won't be the only Planet Sub in Colorado; the chain plans to open seven stores here in the next eight years.

Wait, is this the same Planet Sub that evolved from Yello Sub in Lawrence, KS?  I'm excited if that's the case.  But they've been here before with at least two stores.  One on S. Colorado and another down near I-25 and Lincoln.  I wonder why the false start?  Still happy they're back!
