Most of the reservations at romantic restaurants around town have already been scooped up, but you should still be able to have a lovely evening out with your loved one at a neighborhood joint. And if you're own, at least when you're at a bar crying in your beer, it's likely to be a quality craft brew.

Ian Clark, executive chef and founder of BRU handbuilt ales and eats, will host "Barely & Hops for Beer Lovers," a monthly beer dinner with a Valentine's Day theme starting tonight at 5 p.m. Clark and his crew will dish out a five-course meal highlighting hops and barley; each course will have a craft brew pairing. Check out the full menu on the BRU website. Tickets are $65 per person; call 720-638-5193.

Need a last-second spot? Enjoy a lovely view of downtown Denver -- and all the people stumbling along the streets -- from The ViewHouse this Valentine's Day. Executive chef Jose Guerrero has prepared multi-course meal for lovers and loners alike, with choice of soup, salad, entree and dessert. Tickets are $30 per person, with wine pairings for an additional cost. See the full menu online.

For another restaurant with a great view, check out the sweet menu at Tamayo. Its cupid day menu will run through the weekend, featuring a three-course dinner, a glass of champagne and a long-stemmed rose. Tickets are $60 per person; call 720-946-1433.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15
A brewery-in-the-works, Capitoline Brewing Project, will host a free tasting to collect opinions. Andrew Moore, owner and master brewer, will be on hand to talk about the beers, including Black IPA, Garlic Amber and Strong Scotch Ale, to name a few. Since the location isn't finished, the tasting will take place at the Chicano Humanities and Arts Council Gallery from 7 to 10 p.m.; donations to CHAC are encouraged. Check out what this brewery is all about on the Capitoline website.

Cannabase, a wholesale marijuana program at 5068 Federal Boulevard, will host its launch party tonight. "An Evening with Mary Jane" will provide guests with an open dab bar, bud samples, heavy appetizers, medicated dessert bar, glass raffles and free gift bags for every guest. There will also be a wine bar. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple (romantic or not), and can be purchased online.
