Closer to home, there's plenty on the culinary calendar. Here are a couple of highlights:
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1
Today marks the Chinese New Year, and the Paramount Theatre will be hosting a celebration from 12:30 to 4 p.m. with acrobats, magic acts, opera singers and lion dances preformed by award-winning artists from China and around the United States. There will also be authentic Chinese art -- and food. Interestingly, 2014 is the Year of the Horse, which should be a precursor to positive outcomes for the Super Bowl. Tickets range from $28 to $80 per person, include free garage parking and can be purchased online.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2
Get ready for some football at the Denver Biscuit Bowl today from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at both locations of the Denver Biscuit Company, tucked into the Atomic Cowboy on East Colfax and South Broadway. Normally biscuit service ends at 2 p.m., but on this special Sunday you'll be able to devour them all day and into the night as you root for the home team. There will be a break in food service at 3 p.m., and then the fun resumes and 4 p.m. with football raffles and prizes, as well as various drink specials. Get there early; Atomic Cowboy isn't taking reservations!
