Denver Restaurant Week releasing menus today
1028 South Gaylord Street, Denver, CO
Another bait and tackle shop. Just what we need.
Why so many chain restaurants on South Gaylord? Il Vicino, Tavern, and now John Holly's. That area has so much potential. But it's wasted on mediocre chains.
@ScubaSteve Jesus, I really can't imagine a more juvenile or close-minded comment about sushi. You do realize this is a food blog, right? If you don't have enough respect for other cultures to keep from making disparaging and idiotic remarks about their food choices, at least do it somewhere where the other braying jackasses will appreciate it.
@_____ Il Vicino isn't a "chain." Yeah, they have more than one location, but that doesn't make it a faceless chain.
@_____ I really don't get why when something has more than one location, it's suddenly considered a chain on par with Chili's. Another John Holly's is hardly considered a chain restaurant.
@_____ Because the neighborhood association has some sort of grudge that only the places with deeper pockets to pay for good lawyers can overcome.
Also, you name three chains. On that block there's also The Wash Park Grill, Reiver's, Devil's Food, Max Gill & Grill, and Agave Taco Bar. So eight restaurants on one block, three of which are locally owned, not national, chains. Seems like a reasonable mix. Of course, quality is the real measure, not the ownership structure, but that's a different matter.
Ok you're right too. Still doesn't change the fact that it's not good pizza.
You're right. It's not on par with Chili's. More like PF Changs. Mediocre Americanized pan-Asian food.
"Of course, quality is the real measure, not the ownership structure, but that's a different matter."
Quoted for truth. Chain or not, the quality in that area is pretty mediocre.
Wow. Sounds like you have a bone to pick with me. Registered last week just to defend Il Vicino? Probably.
@_____ Wow, sounds like you have a bone to pick with any establishment in the area? Are you the one who called the police because restaurants were opening in the area? Probably.
@_____ What do you know? Apparently, nothing.
