Friday, April 4

Even though we may have gotten a little spring snow this week, First Fridays are heating up. Tonight's monthly art walk on Santa Fe Drive features food trucks, art and wine -- and there are even free shuttles that will pick you up at the light-rail station at 10th Avenue and Osage Street and ferry you around the arts district between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 5

Boulder Food Rescue presents Forward Food Summit, a two-day conference today and Sunday with workshops, speakers and field trips focusing on raising awareness about food security and helping the hungry. All events are at Impact Hub Boulder, 1877 Broadway; for more information, go to boulderfoodrescue.org.

From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. tonight, Men Who Cook will feature food stations manned by five chefs from local restaurants -- including Saucy Noodle, EDGE and Belvedere -- cooking everything from crab and shrimp empanadas to grilled polenta with Italian sausage and smoked buffalo brisket, all paired with cocktails. This is a benefit for the St. John's School and Early Learning Center, and several amateur chefs will be making their favorite dishes, too. Tickets are $40 per person or $75 a pair; the event is at Galvanize, 1062 Delaware Street. Get tickets and more information here at stjohnslutheranschool.com.

Sunday, April 6

More than thirty of Denver's best chefs will be cooking multi-course meals tableside at this year's Colorado Chefs Up Front benefit at the Colorado Convention Center. The beneficiary of the evening is Cooking Matters, which empowers low-income families by giving them the skills, knowledge and confidence to prepare healthy and affordable meals. The night kicks off with a reception featuring some of the metro area's best bartenders shaking up signature cocktails, that's followed by dinner and a live auction. General admission starts at $300; click here to purchase tickets.
