June is here and with it comes summer. And summer time means rooftops, patios, grilling and festivals. Our top ten culinary events for June have all this and more, from bacon festivals to roof top parties here are the best of the best for the first official month of summer.

10) Food: Our Global Kitchen
Through September 1
History Colorado

History Colorado has teamed up with Whole Foods on Food: Our Global Kitchen, which lets you view rare culinary artifacts and peek into the dining rooms of famous figures throughout history, experiencing the intersection of food, nature, culture, health and history. The display includes a taste kitchen which features daily samplings, demonstrations of cooking methods, and hands-on activities for all ages. Food is open through September 1 at the History Colorado Center. Find out more about the exhibit here.

9) Colorado Wine Week
Through June 7

Colorado Wine Week pours into Denver with a turntable keg wine party at Infinite Monkey Theorem from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 1, with music, five courses of passed food, and plenty of wine on tap. Tickets are $25 and include food and one glass of wine; a portion of the proceeds will benefit Heroes Like Us, a chef-driven non-profit that fights childhood hunger. Other highlights this week will include a wine cocktail competition at Green Russell, the Governors Cup Wine Mixer and the Colorado Urban Winefest. 8) Moovers and Shakers
Monday, June 2
Dairy Center for the Arts

The second annual Moovers and Shakers cocktail competition will take place at the Dairy Center for the Arts in Boulder, which it also benefits. Mixologists from Basta, Frasca, Mateo, Oak at Fourteenth, Salt and Zolo Grill will compete to make a new cocktail featuring Boulder-based Suerte Tequila. The festivities get shaking at 5:30 p.m. and include a silent auction as well as the chance to sample all the cocktails up for judging. Tickets are $55 in advance, $60 at the door; pick up yours here.

7) Het Anker Brewery Beer Dinner
Monday, June 2
Lower48 Kitchen

Lower48, our Best New Restaurant in the Best of Denver 2014, invites you to join Charles LeCleaf of Het Anker Brewery, one of Belgium's oldest and most prestigious breweries, and chef Alex Figura for a four-course beer dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. June 2. The dinner is $48; call 303-942-0262.

6. Capitol Hills People's Fair
June 7-8
Civic Center Park

The 43rd annual Capitol Hill People's Fair will kick off the summer festival season in Civic Center Park with a celebration of Denver's diverse urban community. Features include live music, arts, street theater, kids' attractions, a wine pavilion and food -- lots of food, including the ubiquitous turkey legs.
