Guess where I'm eating scones?

Lori Midson

Last night, on the stage of George Washington High School, my kid received his certificate of continuation -- he's now a high schooler -- and to celebrate, we went out for a late Thai dinner, which sucked, so to compensate, I fed him his favorite breakfast: hot scones from a lovely neighborhood bakery.

Can you guess where I'm eating?

Special bonus: Anyone who gives the first correct answer to a Guess Where post -- on the Cafe Society blog, not on Facebook -- is entered into the contest pool, and every Monday, we select one lucky winner who'll receive a 2014 EatDenver dining deck, worth up to $520 in discounts at independent restaurants.

I don't have a clue, but I'm a sucker for a good scone.  All I can find in this town are mediocre ones, and they're all the same; I swear, it's like every scone in the metro area is churned out by the same bakery.  But these scones have a different shape, at least, so I'm curious.

@Bagwhan Neither of these is the place mentioned in the article, but both English Teacup in Aurora and Welsh Dragon [Canos Collection] in Cherry Creek have good scones.

The latter even has Welsh cakes sometimes too!
