Mile High Spirits closes and will relocate to a larger location downtown

Mile High Spirits, a private label micro-distillery, cocktail lounge and tasting room that opened two years ago on Upper Larimer, shuttered on Saturday night following a late-night bash that went well into the morning hours. Partners Joe Vonfeldt, Chase Campbell and Wyn Ferrell originally opened the distillery, which makes -- and sells -- its own vodka, whiskey, gin, rum, tequila, brandy and other spirits, in 2012, and it's one of the only distilleries in the world that uses an all-glass still for its distillation. And that still will be up and running again later this summer when Mile High Spirits relocates to its new location at 2201 Lawrence Street, near Great Divide.

Saturday night's shindig, which the partners dubbed "Moving Weekend," included raffles, drink specials and drinking games, a DJ and dancing and long lines of party-goers anxious to get one last fix before the staff finally shooed everyone out the door at 2 a.m.

The new Lawrence Street location, reveals the distillery's Facebook page, "will have a stage, large patio, distilling equipment on display and tours."

Mile High Spirits is planning to open its new distillery in July. "We're sad to leave the current location, but we know that you'll love what we have in store," predict the partners.

They don't realize what they're getting into.  I welcome them as a new neighbor in helping to tame the transient problem...but odds are they don't realize what they did by moving.  Godspeed...the DPD doesn't give a shit.

Right next to jagged mountain great divide and the lobby all good places to check out.

That area is improving quickly and the homeless are everywhere downtown so wouldn't make a difference.

Oh, lovely. It's the building that all the homeless continually sleep, piss, fight, smoke crack, and throw garbage in front of. I'll be there! Sigh...

I don't have a problem running into homeless folks, but that particular building is THE gathering place now that the area across from the homeless shelter is closed. It's unsafe and completely disgusting now.
