LYFE wants to do good while serving food that tastes good.
LYFE Kitchen is teaming up with acclaimed photographer John Fielder, whose mural of a peach orchard is featured at the restaurant in Park Meadows, for a book-signing and fundraising event from 3 to 4:30 p.m. today, July 22. Fielder and student Rachel Harris will be signing copies of Nadia's Good Deed, and 20 percent of all dinner sales today will go to The Road to Hope, a local non-profit that supports Haitian communities.

First look at LYFE Kitchen

In 2012, Harris was a sixth-grader at Colorado Academy when she started asking Fielder to go to Haiti with her, and help produce a children's book that would benefit the people of Haiti. Finally Fielder agreed and in August 2013 visited Haiti for a week with Rachel and her father, Denver attorney Richard Harris, and Jean Mensendick, board member of the Harris Road to Hope Foundation. Fielder photographed the people and scenery around the city of Mirebalais and the remote mountain village of Nordette, accessible only on foot by a steep mountain trail.

The result of this partnership is the story of Nadia the goat and her journey to the city, with plenty of insight into Haitian culture along the way -- as well as drawings by Haitian children and photography by John Fielder.

You can buy a signed copy this afternoon, then stay for a dinner that will benefit The Road to Hope. For more information, go to or call 303-706-9100.
