On Sunday, September 7, 2014, Westword will host its twentieth annual celebration of the Denver dining scene, DISH, in Sculpture Park at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, where many of the favorite restaurants of Cafe Society writers and readers will be serving delectable dishes. Like Fooducopia, an eatery that's shipping some morning sunshine over from its home in Washington Park.

As a neighborhood hangout and corner store, Fooducopia is committed to sourcing its goodies from local farmers and artisan producers, says Owner Tim Lymberopoulos. "The passion they put into their food production can be tasted in each bite," he says.

Fooducopia's cinnamon apple brioche French toast, an import from the restaurant's regular breakfast menu, is almost entirely local. The brioche is from Boulder's Breadworks Bakery and Cafe, while the eggs that the bread is dipped in are local and cage free. The finished toast is topped with a cinnamon apple caramel sauce studded with apples from Ela Family Farms in Hotchkiss.

Farm-fresh French toast is just one of dozens of offerings you'll find at DISH, which runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 7. (VIP entrance is at 11 a.m.) To see what else is in store and buy tickets for this culinary celebration's twentieth anniversary, visit the 2014 DISH site.

And the dinner menu's pretty darn good too! Try the infused strawberries (or, as I like to call them, "Grand Marnier grenades") with chocolate sauce - just to name one dish.

PS - Mr. Glover, Mrs. Ball is still pining for you at English Teacup... =D
