Fago de Chao will serve all the meat you can eat during Denver Restaurant Week.
We've now picked the five winners who are getting dinner for two at one of the restaurants participating in the the first August edition of Denver Restaurant Week . But anyone can find a winning deal during DRW. From August 23 through 29, more than 200 restaurants will be offering special, three-course dinners at just $60 for two (not including tax and gratuity). So clear your calendar and loosen your belt; there's lots of good eating ahead.

For our contest, we asked readers to tell us why they're glad Denver Restaurant Week has added an August edition. They could talk about a food they were looking forward to, the joy of patio dining in Denver...or just vent about how disappointing your summer has been so far.

Check the comments section below to see the responses -- and learn whether you were a winner. If so, make sure you e-mail your mailing address to patricia.calhoun@westword.com. And watch for more on DRW in the days ahead.

I'm so glad its that time again because I didn't have to go broke in February trying to pack all my fav restaurants then.

While summer in Colorado is always hot, this year is the 'hautest' on record, thanks to Denver Restaurant Week's August encore. Having endured three years of living on the edge of the North Sea--where mention of the restaurant 'North' produces vacant stares rather than reminiscent gazes--I feel as if Denver Restaurant Week Round 2 were created with my plight in mind! I look forward to granting myself another week of signature Mile High indulgences (like Panzano's melt-in-your-mouth budino di caramello!) while catching up with family and friends.

A great opportunity to dine out before Summer's end at the best local bites in Denver! You feel invigorated by being part of a good cause that supports local restaurants as well as your appetite. Tryout someplace new! Grab your friends!

We love food.. We love really great food at a really great deal even better!! With some many places to grab a bite here in town DRW gives us a chance to try those places we normally wouldn't. It's great they added an additional run. We don't feel as overwhelmed to try all the places we want to in the first run!

Too late to the party; too late to the gate.

I'd have taken my girlfriend, but she's watching her weight.

Since I'm a leo, August is the right date.

Best I missed it, my wife would have been irate.

I am the 5280 Restaurant Week dining champ! I know which restaurants to go out for year after year, offering the best variety and the best selection. And I often go out for the new rising stars - sometimes this is the only time of the year that I really spend researching, making reservations and trying out a new restaurant. Having a 2nd 5280 Restaurant Week in August is like birthing another baby after the 1st birth went over famously with your in-laws. Let's do this, Denver! Let's eat 5280 calories a day! I have eyes on this prize...

I'm a Denver newbie, with not much cash to spare

There's yummy food a'plenty, but I can only stare

How lovely it would be to me, if you could choose my name

It would make my summer, and end my hunger pains!

Man... all of the responses are so pathetic. Sounds like cash-strapped people just hoping for a free meal... or 'cheaper' meal. That's exactly what DRW is about, I suppose.

Can't wait for overcrowded restaurants, overworked wait staff getting paid lousy tips on discounted meals, turn/burn service to accommodate enough covers to meet restaurants' bottom line, and fixed price menus with lesser quality ingredients and smaller portions!

Because I'm no longer on a diet and fitness challenge and have completely let myself go.  I spend far too much money and chewing power on eating entire bags of ginger snaps from Dollar tree, cashing in BOGO coupons at Ben and Jerry's, and getting 4 plates and dessert at Indian buffets.  I'm tired of low-rent binging.  I need to class up my gluttony big time, and maybe impress a lady with my meal winning skills and not my overeating skills.  More refined taste, less Golden Corral.  Fill my belly please.

I cook for a living, and due to the ridiculously low wages paid in Denver kitchens, I cannot afford to eat at a decent restaurant for anything more than a quick happy hour bite.

I would love to be able to go out at a restaurant that I could never afford otherwise.

Love the thought of August restaurant week so that we won't get snowed out like we did a couple years ago, we get a chance to try new places and it should be a big boost to deserving new places in a crowded market.

BTW is the prize for Fago de Chao or the better-known Fogo de Chao?

I am excited about Denver restaurant week in August because I need something to look forward to in Colorado that I can actually do! I'm a professor who is recently tenured and recently divorced. I came out to Colorado for a little bit of "Eat Pray Love" style self care and discovery during my sabbatical. I was going to fill my days with hiking and biking and Pilates. I was going to take the road trips of my dreams to Black Canyon, Mesa Verde, and Steamboat Springs. I was going to have lots of first time adventures, tubing, white water rafting, maybe sky diving! 10 days after I arrived I broke my foot on a leisurely bike ride. Knowing no one in town, I had surgery a week later. I've been unable to bear weight at all on my left foot since. I will spend all of September in a walking boot. I might get some hiking in in October, but right now, I'm pretty limited to the "eat" part of my eat pray love adventure. Winning a meal during restaurant would give me a Colorado experience to look forward to, and something to help me get through the last couple of weeks in my pink cast!

I am super excited for Denver restaurant week in August best once a year is not enough! I love being able to try restaurants that i would not normally go to. The price  for two and the menu options are excellent. It's a wonderful way to showcase the fine restaurants around Denver by showing their flair in the different seasonal dishes.

Restaurant Week in August is brilliant because we can enjoy it in sundresses on patios. Brilliant!

Adding an August edition of Restaurant Week is undoubtedly an excellent idea. It gives Denver diners a chance to indulge in great food and enjoy the city's variety of cuisines and dining experiences. Meanwhile, it challenges chefs across the city to concoct new dishes (or re-portion old dishes, depending on their level of enthusiasm) that highlight their restaurant's uniqueness and delight us with their use of awesome summer seasonal ingredients (root vegetables, al fresco dining, desert, please). Why not even have a "Restaurant Day" once a month?

My boyfriend is an underpaid chef, and I am just a young lady with a penchant for deliciousness. We would love to do a DRW date and would be happy to review our experience for Westword.

I love that there is now a seasonality component to Restaurant Week! So much amazing summer produce they can feature on their menus that wouldn't be available in February. Also that restaurants will be able to open up their patios and hopefully have more reservations to offer :)  I look forward to trying out some new places this year!

I would be thrilled with Denver Restaurant Week anytime of the the year! But the idea of not having to brave the cold, and navigate icy and snowy roads to get to the restaurant sure is appealing.

I just love what Restaurant Week is all about! An opportunity to celebrate the creativity of how we make food, the adventure of exposure to what's new, and the delight of doing all this without redlining the vacation fund

-all this wrapped up in the excitement of SUMMER is why the new Part Two of yummy week is brilliant :) #happyfoodie #forkarmedandready

I am looking forward to an August Restaurant week because I have to admit I'm a little tired of the February menus, which all read like:

Slow Cooked Beef Rib with Beet-Fennel Puree and Kale garnish

Braised Pork Rib on a bed of Kale with Beet "carpaccio" and crispy fennel

Duck leg confit over Beet "Risotto" with Kale and Fennel Salad

The vegetarian option, pasta with beets, kale, and fennel

In August, something else is in season - and will eventually be overused, but I'm looking forward to a change for now.

Gosh stinky, since you gave no credit or indication of someone else's work  you are  either:

a plagiarist and a pathetic liar             --- OR ---

lying about it being someone else's work, which makes you a pathetic liar.

In either case, you are a lying shit-bird.  But, we all already knew that.
