Once Clinton left the Pepsi Center stage, Jin Ho Kang and Yoougsook Kang, a pair of reverends from Aurora, delivered the closing prayer and the proceedings were promptly gaveled to a close for the night -- at which point the band launched into Sly & the Family Stone's "I Want to Take You Higher" (a reference to raised consciousness or cocaine?), followed by the Trammps' "Disco Inferno" (apparently to cement the impression that Barack Obama could burn John McCain on the dance floor). Meanwhile, publicity seekers raced toward any camera in the vicinity. Case in point: This lovely couple, representing the yin and American politics. Either that or they failed to make the final cut on a reality show and figured the DNC was the next best thing. -- Michael Roberts
