Photos From Inside the DNC Protest Cage
A federal judge is still deciding whether the City of Denver's plans for protesters at the DNC passes constitutional muster. Perhaps the largest issue is what the Secret Service likes to call the "Public Viewing Area," a 47,000 square foot lot surrounded by a fence on the grounds of the Pepsi Center that protesters have taken to calling the "Freedom Cage."
One of the questions U.S. District Judge Marcia Krieger must deal with is if the area allows demonstrators to get within "sight and sound" of the delegates entering the convention. Already the demonstration area is 733 feet away from the Pepsi Center, and the view from the area will mostly obstructed by a massive media tent and Brian Williams' chin.
These photos (after the jump) were taken yesterday, as work on the Freedom Cage was getting underway. When completed, the area will be surrounded by two fences and many, many police. --Jared Jacang Maher

It looks like Obama only wants to be surrounded by his adoring fans. He's starting to remind me of Bush II, afraid to be confronted. He's such a fake. I thought freedom of speech is part of being American.

They're creating their own tactical problems with $50,000,000 of YOUR taxpayer dollars. That's right. Your tax dollars are being spent on the DNC and RNC conventions. How much of your tax dollars went to the Green party convention? The Libertarian party convention? The Constitution party convention?

If the pace that Barky and McSame have been spending campaign dollars is any indication of the pace at which they'll spend tax dollars once in office ... we don't need either one of them! Think outside the box this year folks. Vote for one of the other parties in protest to how these two parties have created massive bureaucracies and overspent unbelievable amounts of hard-earned taxpayer dollars on unnecessary wars and pet projects.

...To which I fully agree. The only way this will ever change is if we start voting AGAINST the two other parties. Once the numbers start becoming a threat, the other parts will offer us the Moon to vote for them. So, in a non partisan way, pick the leading 3rd party and vote for them as a protest vote.

We got to sit in an out-of-the-way park and protest at each other--no one else even knew we were there. If the War Moratorium in the '70s had allowed this we would still be fighting in Viet Nam! This isn't a protest, it's a test to see how "protesters" will behave in the new prison camps being constructed for them all around the country.
As we used to say, it's time to "bring the war home".
