Colorado comedy continues to step into the limelight. This past Friday, John "Hippieman" Novosad (pictured) appeared on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Hippieman, who had impressed Ferguson when he opened for the Scottish comedian at a Comedy Works gig in August, rocked it on the show, and the accolades he received are sure to put a few more customers in seats when he headlines the same club on December 21.

Meanwhile, Last Comic Standing winner Josh Blue recently threw back a line to local funnyman Andrew Orvedahl, flying him out to the Newmark Theatre in Portland, Oregon, to do an opening half-hour set before Blue took the stage. Orvedahl also kicked ass, earning the praise of all who saw him -- and then he got so drunk that he locked himself in the venue and had to be rescued by passing fans after banging on the glass of the lobby window for what seemed like hours. Way to go, Andy! Those interested in watching Orvedahl headline can catch his CD-recording show at the Oriental Theater on January 10. Denver comedy continues to shine. -- Adam Cayton-Holland
