Reader reviews of the Rocky Mountain News' redesign may be mixed -- but whoa, what's up with the new columnist photos? Who knew that pasty and pale writers could look so damn sexy?! You have to wonder what these wordsmiths were thinking as they stepped in front of the lens. Do I smile? Do I brood? Should I turn my head at a coy angle? Beautiful, baby, beautiful! Westword took an office poll of the best new Rocky Glamour Shots. These were our faves:

Mike Littwin: An old-timey mustache AND hippy hair? How can something so wrong feel so right?

Dave Flomberg: He may be a doppelganger of Westword music editor Dave Herrera, but this casual glance-back makes us think "Herrera who?"

Gary Massaro: One question — beret or Kangol?

Brian D. Crecente: Our winner! Clearly, Crecente is much too hunky to be a mere video game critic (and cop reporter, a beat that does not rate a pic). Although his fingers must be nimble, we imagine a future career as a salsa dance instructor. --Jared Jacang Maher
