DIA Never Looked So Good
Boredom can lead to beautiful things, such as this image of DIA that looks more like a gilded city straight out of a space opera than the sprawling monstrosity of an airport we know and love (or hate). Colorado Springs photographer Chris Coleman took this stunning shot to kill some time during a layover. It was created using a technique called High-Dynamic Range imaging, which combines multiple shots taken at different exposures into a single image with an exaggerated, hyperreal lighting range.
Coleman is a former Olympic competitor and current employee of the U.S. Olympic Committee. He was recently invited to submit his work to the Art of the Olympians, an exhibit featuring the art of former Olympic athletes. More of his incredible work can be seen here. – Cory Casciato
