Just another example of Mary Starkey trying to cheat people who do work for her. She is well known for signing contracts to have work done at her school, and then refusing to pay! Most contractors will settle for less just to be rid of this screaming crazy women. Amazing that she can present herself as the "First Lady of Service". What a joke!

After reading the story “Is Mary Starkey persona non grata at the Denver Athletic Club?” I felt strongly that I needed to set the record straight. Ms. Starkey is always welcome to our venerable institution and has been a great source of advice in our commitment to continuously improve our service. Ms. Starkey disputed a $60.00 charge to her account resulting from an event at the Club. While we resolved the dispute, the entire bill was held up for payment. Our industry’s practice has been to post accounts in arrears visibly in the lobby, as a form of pressuring slow payers to settle the account. Our records show her account paid in full.

Just wondered how much pride you take in innuendo, when you were younger you originally had a dream of being a truth reporter and journalist of very high quality. Your writing is pretty good, structurally, that is. The content is incredibly pointless and trashy, if you know what I mean. I think your mother is embarrassed.

Have you ever noticed when you read yellow trash how embarrassed you are for the writer instead of for the person he or she is trashing? Imagine what folks are now thinking of you.

If you were an AA member and I your sponsor, I would strongly urge you to make amends to Mary Louise, not because you are committing a small innuendo crime that any good journalist would not even be caught dead reading, but because you owe her an amend and you will fell soooooo much better afterwards than you are feeling right now!

Your second sentence calls the good people of the Denver Athletic Club 'snobs'.
The lack of response to that attack tells me very few 'players' in town read your musings (drivel), and the ones that do read it may need your attacks and innuendo on others to ensure their inferiority complexes are soothed by the 'them against us' drama of their lives.
Your 'source' obviously did not fact check with the DAC, nor did you.
The DAC's response above is more damning to you and this 'junior high school journalistic effort' than to Ms. Starkey.
Let's summarize.
You insult DAC members, Ms. Starkey, her school, staff, ex husband, and the judicial system (for trying her in the court of public opinion), your employer, and most importantly whatever junior college you learned this drivel from.
Is everyone that makes more than your meager earnings a 'snob', joel?
Are you still reeling from junior high Joel, when you first learned that nobody really liked you for you, that you would never really be part of 'that' crowd, so you got others to pay attention to you via mocking, grade-school teasing and taunting?

It's interesting that even the most despicable people have friends who stand up to their defense.

As one of the dissatisfied graduates of Ms. Starkey's "school," where I experienced: two months of lessons largely full of hot air and taught by a drunk; dishonest claims of job placement; food that your average prison wouldn't serve its inmates; and a leader who's a raving lunatic woman with the elegance of a seamonster and the demeanor of a hyena, claiming to the be the "first lady of service." What a joke. I can't wait until the Colorado Board of Occupational Schools completes its investigation. I was there when she was verbally abusing employees and students alike. NUT CASE.

As for this article, attacking a reporter for printing publicly available information is simply silly. If you want to do the world some good, make your mother happy (Mr. Hume) by trying to lead Ms. Starkey to being a decent human being and citizen. That, I'm sure, would be a more useful expense of your time, though probably too difficult. Going after her detractors is much easier than getting her to change.

and Mary Louise Srarkey can be the same person . Its obvious to anyone who has had the misfortune to cross that womans path , that she has never set foot in an athletic club in her life . She is the polar opposite of a person who is healthy in body ,mind and spirit .,I just dont believe that MLS. belongs to an athletic club ,and the black velour track suits are used other than for student graduation ceremonies, interviews and lounging around waiting for someone to post bail ?
The stories exposing the goings on at that sham of a school and the arrest were great Joel and who can forget the mug shot , ,brilliant !. once again you are exposing MLS for the con woman that she is . Keep up the good work

Does anybody have an update on Starkey's court trial for physically assaulting a mentally and physically disabled student? I hear it's been delayed numerous times for odd legal reasons while the victim awaits financial assistance for her surgeries resulting from the assault.

I have sat back and watched with interest the saga of the Dragon Lady! Many have tried to slay or stop the abuse, only to wind up abused and considered dead by herself anyway. She is worse than any slippery snake or lizard I have ever seen, she manages to get out of every situation she has dealt herself into and to top it off she made a great deal of money doing it, but never really plowed what was needed back into the school. I too have worked for her, and it was not any fun, except dealing with the students that were laughing at her as much as we were pitying her. What is it going to take to make people understand that Joel Warner is only telling the facts and the truth, no matter how much he tells, there are those that will stand up for her. Jim Jones also had people that stood up for him, as did Stalin, Hilter, and many of the other despots. People are allowed their own opinions and I understand that, so we who know her the best have had it and hopefully this time she will get her just rewards. I was one of those that stood up to her. The students at that time, gave me a standing ovation when I walked into the kitchen the next hour after telling her off. You could hear her still screaming two floors up!! Many things could still be said, but those who know her for what she really is despise the attitude she exudes, she will finally get to destroy the school this time, she has tried so many times when intelligent well meaning educators have set the school on a proper course only to have her launch the torpedoes at the boat and sink it because it didn't fly the MLS Flag high enough. If any one has ever counted the number of time she makes sure she is referred to or mentioned in the "Newsletter" sent out as "Tales from the Mansion" similar to Tales from the Crypt, She is the Cryptkeeper and everyone needs to realize it. Mary or should I Say...Mrs. Starkey,(as you have always insisted when someone calls you on something) you have had more than one chance to sell out and get out with some dignity and save a school with your name upon it, only to let your overinflated ego and manaical demands lead you to this, Is there going to be a Garage Sale at the Mansion or will you stay in it and live with all the things that Lee "left", or the the Senators mother left, or stuff that the students "donated" or the stuff that you insisted was necessary to make you look like you had money. You had a great gig, but you let your ego over inflate sort of like sausages in fishnets, they eventually will cut themselves into squares and little tiny pieces...does St. John do anything nice in Jailhouse Orange?

Comparison to Hitler? Wow! You have some major issues!

People leave this women alone. So you don't like her or the school, fine! leave, don't let the door hit you on the way out. This story is nothing more then gossip. Get a life people.
