Bill Ritter Meets the Press in the Post-Russert Era

The June 29 edition of Meet the Press -- the first to be anchored by onetime NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw since he agreeing to helm the program through the presidential election following the death of longtime moderator Tim Russert -- will co-star Colorado's governor, Bill Ritter.

Why? Ritter is attending the Western Governors Association conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Brokaw is on the bill.

According to this event agenda, Brokaw is scheduled to give a keynote address at 2 p.m. on the 29th, after which he'll participate in a panel discussion entitled "Protecting Wildlife Corridors in the West." That might be seen as killing three birds with one stone if it didn't contradict the whole protecting-wildlife thing.

At present, Ritter and Wyoming governor Dave Freudenthal are slated to appear in at least one segment together. The program airs at 9 a.m. on Channel 9. -- Michael Roberts
