The latest search for the body and plane of missing (and presumably dead) millionaire Steve Fossett, which got underway on July 14 in the mountains along the border separating California from Nevada, puts a renewed focus on those monied folks who use their resources in a quest to set aeronautic records, often at the risk of life and limb. Westword staff writer Alan Prendergast explored this mindset in "The Final Frontier," a 1998 profile of Re/Max adventurer Dave Liniger that also details some of Fossett's exploits.
