The first-ever Art Day on Santa Fe -- in conjunction with the monthly First Friday walk – was Friday, August 1, and it didn't disappoint: A life-size, 10,000-pound marble sculpture of Francisco's American Woman lay reclined, gazing majestically over a crowd of onlookers. Denver's Carlos Santisteran exhibited his breadth of talent with a "low-rider series," second-hand shoes that were "pimped out" as uniquely tailored cars. And at another booth, Santisteran displayed traditional, Colonial New Mexico-style depictions of Catholic saints on wood blocks.
