Doesn't this get you into the yuletide spirit?
Visited a Highlands Ranch-area Hobby Lobby on Saturday and was stunned -- and yet not stunned -- to see the store's entire lobby stuffed with Christmas trees. Once upon a time, Thanksgiving was the official start of the Christmas shopping season. Then Halloween. Is it Labor Day now? Or even earlier? After all, I haven't been in a Hobby Lobby for a while. Maybe this stuff's been up since the 4th of July. Whatever the case, the financial crisis in which our nation is presently mired doesn't exactly have me in the overspending mood -- which may explain why the folks at Hobby Lobby wanted an extra month-plus to break the will of American consumers like me.
