Rocky Mountain News thinks fiscal crisis is something to sing about

Other appropriate AC/DC songs: "Money Talks," "Thunderstruck," "Shot Down in Flames" and "Meltdown."

At this writing, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is considerably higher than it was at the day's open, and that's good news for all of our 401(k) plans, as well as for those who fear the Rocky Mountain News will launch a sequel to its lamest economic-crisis tie-in to date: a list of songs that certain Colorado investors think best describe stock market conditions, including Eminem's "Rock Bottom," Led Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused" and AC/DC's "Highway to Hell." Then again, there's no guarantee that if markets turn around, Rocky types won't trot out a roster of tunes to describe the upswing -- like, for instance, U2's "Beautiful Day," Randy Newman's "It's Money That I Love," Rage Against the Machine's "Bulls on Parade" and, to mark the end of red ink, "Back in Black." AC/DC is clearly a band for all financial seasons. -- Michael Roberts
