In May 2007, lightning struck the enormous Jesus statue atop the Mother Cabrini Shrine, damaging both arms and feet, as well as the supporting base. Earlier this year, repairs were completed, and a safer savior, complete with a lightning rod sticking out of his head and a metallic spine visible along his back, made His debut. We recently made the hike and took photos capturing the improvements.
