Today's Night & Day featured event: Trog de Lights turns back on

Susan Henderson wears many hats, and you could say that at least one of them is a lampshade. That's because the third-generation Denverite and Fuller Sotheby's broker sells lamps in her spare time. And not just any lamps, but magnificent antique ones that she imports from South America, though they're mostly European. Henderson then sells those lamps, which vary in style from trendy Art Deco to full-on Gothic "(like something you'd see in any old Medieval movie," she says) in her itinerant, on-and-off-again shop, Trog de Lights.

Henderson, with the help of a few friends, will be showing off the lamp boutique in its current locale at 2914 West 25th Avenue during a mini-art walk hosted by galleries and businesses sharing space at the corner of 25th Avenue and Eliot Street. Along with her own "shimmering, opulent feast" of wares, Trog de Lights will feature lighting creations by Tracey Barnes and artworks by Diane and Michelle Barnes (as well as a cappella singing by the neighbor who lives upstairs) tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. Other event participants on the block include the Mary Mackey Studio and the Eliot Street Collective.
