Here's more evidence of how tight things are at local TV stations these days. Last night, Channel 31 offered up a report about the ongoing Ward Churchill trial -- undeniably one of the biggest ongoing stories in town -- during its late newscast, helmed by anchors Ron Zappolo and Libby Weaver. But apparently, the outlet didn't have sufficient staff to dedicate one of its number to sitting in on yesterday's proceeding, despite the fact that former University of Colorado-Boulder president Hank Brown was scheduled to take the stand. Hence, the piece credited its Brown quotes to "a Colorado Daily blog."
This mention may not mark the death of TV journalism. But there's little doubt that the medium is under the weather about now...
