V-Day doesn't correspond to a specific date on the calendar. Rather, it's an organization dedicated to ending violence against women and girls across the globe. And tonight offers a highly enjoyable way to support the cause: a benefit performance of The Vagina Monologues, the award-winning play penned by Eve Ensler, V-Day's founder.

Over the past decade, Vagina Monologues performances dedicated to V-Day have raised tens of millions for anti-violence groups across the country, and the local version, presented under the auspices of V-Day Boulder, will add to that total. Proceeds are earmarked for Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA), Sexual Health and AIDS Awareness Peer Education (SHAPE) and the Women and Girls of the Democratic Republic of Congo -- groups that all hope to make every day V-Day.

The Monologues begin at 8 p.m. at the Boulder Theater, 2032 14th Street in (yes, you guessed it) Boulder. General admission tickets are $25; students and seniors get in for $15, and $50 VIP seats are available. Learn more by phoning 303-786-7030 or by surfing to the event's page on the Boulder Theater's website.
