Why does all the news have to break at exactly the same time? Just about when a reward of a whopping $1 was announced in Ward Churchill's wrongful-termination lawsuit against the University of Colorado at Boulder, Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler, who said yesterday that he didn't want to be traded, was sent packing. He's been dealt to the Chicago Bears in exchange for two first-round draft picks and QB Kyle Orton, who's among the worst candidates for the position of Next John Elway that any Broncos fan could have imagined. Josh McDaniels can't really be serious about leaving the team's future in the hands of either Orton or Chris Simms, who hasn't played since 2006, can he?
The off-season just got a lot more interesting -- and a lot more terrifying.
