Colorado Crimes: Kids do the darnedest things -- like bringing incendiary devices to the airport

Kids: They grow up so fast. One minute, they're crawling on the floor, trying to eat furballs the cat just spat up -- and the next, they're being detained for being in possession of an incendiary device at an airport. Whose personnel frown on that sort of thing.
According to the Denver Police Department, a twelve-year old tried to take the aforementioned doodad through security at Denver International Airport early this morning. A TSA screener who didn't think that was the greatest idea in the world responded by calling a DPD cop, who quickly took charge of Junior. The bomb squad was called, too, but no word yet on if anything went ka-bloom.

On May 27, 2009, at approximately 06:45 a.m., Denver Police assigned to Denver's International Airport were contacted by TSA (Transportation Security Administration) employees regarding an incendiary device which a twelve-year-old juvenile attempted to bring through security screening. The juvenile was detained and the Denver Police Department's Bomb Squad responded.The juvenile is being detained for possession of an incendiary device.
This appears to be an isolated incident and no planes or passengers were ever jeopardized.
The incident continues to be under investigation.
