Twitter Tuesday: Nature, science and other Denver things

@DenverMuseumNS: The Twitter feed of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science has a wide variety of cool nature and science-y stuff. Things like helpful tips for watching the ongoing Perseid meteor shower (2 a.m. to 3 a.m. tomorrow is the best time, apparently), announcements on free days at the museum, ticket giveaways to some of their paid events, and links to blogs they post. If you have kids or are maybe just really into science and nature, this is a can't-miss follow. Oh, and they have a sweet picture of a moose on their background image, if you like that sort of thing.

@Botanic: Continuing on the nature tip, the Denver Botanic Gardens has been known to tweet now and again. The DBG's Twitter feed is, not surprisingly, dominated by tweets about plants, gardening and the like. It's not just about the plants, though -- the DBG has other events, like concerts, from time to time, and you can find info about those here, too. If you're a fan of the DBG's languid beauty, this is a great way to stay up to date with what's happening over there.

@IKnowDenver: This Twitter feed is nothing but Denver-centric tweets from Denver locals, about Denver and all the cool things happening here. Beer, music, climbing, picnics, you name it: If it's happening in or around town, they will tweet about it. They even take questions. Just use the #askdnvr hash tag -- Twitter novices: That just means add the exact text to your tweet -- with your question and they'll do their best to answer it. Handy, like having a free, sort-of personal guide to the city.
