A lot of writers believe that simply stating the facts is boring -- but that depends on the facts. Take the following press release from the Englewood Police Department:
Englewood -- On September 9, 2009 at 5:17pm, a 56-year-old man was riding his bicycle in the 3100 block of S. Acoma St. when he was struck by lightning. Englewood Fire Rescue responded and transported the man to Swedish Medical Center. He is currently in serious condition.
Damn right he's in serious condition! He was just struck by lightning! While riding a bike! No embellishment needed....
