First charges in racially motivated attacks include juveniles getting adult treatment
A couple of new photos join our gallery of men and women accused in a series of what the Denver Police Department describes as racially motivated attacks that have taken place in the city in recent months.

That's because two juvenile suspects, Ashley Celestine and Kavean McCloud, are among the first group of nine individuals charged by the Denver District Attorney's Office.

CHARGES FILED IN AGGRAVATED ROBBERY AND ASSAULTS CASES
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged nine people in connection with a series of robberies and assaults that have taken place in Denver over the past four months. These are the first of more than two dozen cases expected to be filed this week.
Ashley Celestine (02-05-1992) and Rodney Christopher (05-09-1991) are charged with aggravated robbery (F3) and first-degree assault (F3) in connection with an incident on November 9th, 2009 at 1550 Broadway. The charges allege the defendants attacked a 25-year-old man from behind, knocked him unconscious, violently assaulted him, and stole his cell phone.
Kavean McCloud (08-07-1992) and Alexander Bunting (07-08-1991) are charged with first-degree assault (F3) and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault (F4) in connection with an incident on September 6th, 2009 at 17th and Market Streets. The charges allege that McCloud assaulted a 24-year-old man on the corner of 17th and Market Street as part of an initiation process encouraged by Bunting. As a result of the attack, the victim suffered a head injury that included a skull fracture.
Kendall Austin (07-08-1991) and Clarissa Lockhart (12-19-1990) are charged with attempted robbery (F5), bias-motivated crime (F4), and third-degree assault (M1) in connection with an incident on September 4th, 2009 at 16th Street and Welton Street. The charges allege that the defendants attacked two men in an attempted robbery.
Nyeri Goff (08-06-1991), Landae Woods-King (10-31-1988), and Tabias Graves (01-30-1991) are charged with attempted robbery (F5), conspiracy to commit attempted robbery (F5), and third-degree assault (M1) in connection with an incident on August 11th, 2009 at 30th Avenue and Downing Street. The charges allege that the defendants attacked a man at the bus station in an attempt to rob him.
These defendants all remain in custody in the Denver County Jail; bond is set at $1,000,000. They are scheduled to appear in Denver District Courtroom 14 tomorrow, Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 8:30 am for advisement.
