Mile HIgh Murder, No. 50: Anthony Joseph Romero formally charged in death of Jessica Porter
Two weeks ago today, Anthony Joseph Romero, 29, was arrested following the death of his girlfriend, Jessica Porter, 28, at 1873 S. Clermont Street.
Anthony Romero: charged.
Today, the Denver District Attorney's Office settled on a charge: first-degree murder.
Formal charges will be delivered on November 17. In the meantime, look below to read the DA's release:
MAN CHARGED IN WOMAN'S DEATHDenver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged a man in connection with the death of a 28-year-old woman last week.
Anthony Romero (dob: 12-20-80) is charged with first-degree murder (F1).
The charge alleges that Romero got angry with his girlfriend, Jessica Porter, and killed her in the early morning hours of November 6, 2009 in the home they shared in the 1800 block of South Clermont Street. Romero, who was in a bedroom of the home when officers arrived, was taken to the hospital to be treated for knife wounds.
Romero remains in custody in the Denver County Jail; he is being held without bond. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9 a.m. to be formally advised of the charges.
