Tweetup for tots tonight
The holiday season is in full swing, and even Denver's monthly Tweetup is getting in on the action.
The November meeting of the Twitter faithful is pairing up with the Denver Santa Claus Shop for the latest event, to help ensure a merry Christmas (or other culturally appropriate winter holiday) for less privileged families. The organizers behind this particular event are going all out: In addition to the usual Tweetup activities of cheap drinks and cheaper socializing, this one also has an embedded Geeks Who Drink quiz, Stranahan's distillery tours and more. In other words, there's probably never been a better time to go to your first tweetup, or to start going again.
Even if you suck at trivia, it's worth entering the quiz, hosted by the Geeks' newest quizmaster (and Tweetup organizer) Erika Napoletano (aka @RedheadWriting and @DearRedhead) for a shot at the prize drawings.
And there are some great prizes, from naughty gift bags courtesy of sponsor ToyWithMe.com (link NSFW!) to premium bottle service in the form of a signature bottle of Stranahan's whiskey with your name on it at the Rackhouse. Sex, booze, trivia... sounds like nerd heaven.
"Where else in Denver are you going to find a big ass social event sponsored by a sex-toy review site, a local humor conglomerate and a herd of geeks?" Napoletano asks.
It starts tonight at 6:45 p.m. at the Rackhouse Pub and Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Distillery, 200 South Kalamath Street.
