Bonnie and Clyde robbing banks in Greeley? Kind of...
The number of bank robberies in the metro area of late has apparently reached such heights that mainstream media can't keep up. Example: Last evening, my wife and some of her colleagues were dining at restaurant off Wadsworth when the credit union next door was held up -- and even mighty Google can't find any reference to it this morning.
The years have been very kind to Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.
No wonder the Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force, a branch of Denver's FBI office, has taken to naming thieves it's seeking; otherwise, garnering press attention in this wild west atmosphere would be damn near impossible. And when it comes to catching a couple suspected of one bank robbery and other armed robberies in the Greeley area in recent weeks, they've chosen a reliably catchy moniker: Bonnie and Clyde.
As you can see by the photo attached here, and another one below focusing on the female half of the duo, the wanted robbers don't look much like either Hollywood's version of the 1930s-era scofflaws, or the 1960s Hollywood version, either. But if it's a stretch, it's an understandable one given the number of pistol packers making unauthorized withdrawals these days. Learn more about B&C below:
