When we posted a mug-shot roster of Denver sex offenders who'd failed to register earlier today, we had no idea we'd be establishing a theme. But this blog was followed by items about two sex offenders in Boulder -- one who molested a woman while she was in bed alongside her boyfriend, the second who claims in a lawsuit that he's being discriminated against because of his fondness for pleather pants.

And now, number four: the arrest of Gabriel Paul Cabral, 41, a caretaker at an assisted living facility, who was allegedly caught on video by a Nanny-cam engaging in unlawful sexual contact with a woman in her late eighties.

We're clearly way over quota on stories like this -- so if the rest of you could make sure your sexual activity is consensual and legal for the rest of the day, we'd appreciate it. See details about Cabral from the Lakewood Police Department below:

Employee of Assisted Living Facility Arrested for Unlawful Sexual Contact

February 12, 2010

Lakewood police detectives have arrested a 41-year-old man after investigating a complaint that he had unlawful sexual contact with a female resident of an assisted living facility. The victim is in her late eighties.

Lakewood Police responded to the facility in the 12700 block of W. Alameda Pkwy last week, after the family of the victim indicated they had video of the contact taking place. Detectives reviewed the video which was seized and placed into evidence.

In late December, the victim's family installed a hidden camera commonly known as a "Nanny-cam" in the victim's room. The family had become suspicious that the victim may have been mistreated. The video captured images that led the family, as well as detectives to believe that a staff member had subjected the victim to unlawful sexual contact.

Yesterday, the caregiver, Gabriel Paul Cabral (01-05-69) was interviewed by detectives. At the conclusion of the interview detectives felt there was probable cause for the arrest of Cabral He was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail and booked on a charge of "Crimes against an at risk adult." Cabral was employed by more than one assisted living facility in the area.

Lakewood detectives would like anyone who feels they may have information about Cabral to contact them at 303-987-7111. Due to the nature of the crime and the victim's status as an "at risk adult", very little if any addition information can or will be released.
