Racial-attack suspects: Hearings, sentencings and Allen Ford's not guilty plea

Media reports have connected Allen Ford to Andrew Gelston Graham's murder.
Last week, we told you about reports again linking suspects in a series of racial attacks to the thus-far-unsolved murder of Andrew Gelston Graham.

Among those mentioned as being part of a group that allegedly trailed Graham: Allen Ford, who has yet to be charged in the case -- and he pleaded not guilty in two other incidents involving allegations such as robbery, assault and bias-motivated crime.

STATUS UPDATES ON ROBBERY AND ASSAULT CASES

Two of the defendants charged in a series of robberies and assaults in Denver last year have pleaded this week in Denver District Court; here is a status update on the cases --

Ashley Celestine (02-05-1992), charged earlier with aggravated robbery (F3) and first-degree assault (F3) in connection with a November 9th, 2009 incident at 1550 Broadway, pleaded guilty today to second-degree assault (F4). Celestine went to immediate sentencing and was sentenced to a two-year supervised deferred judgment. Christopher Rodney (05-09-1991) was also charged in this incident and is scheduled for a disposition hearing on April 27, 2010.

Xavier Francis (dob: 01-19-89) pleaded guilty on April 19 to three counts of bias-motivated crime (F4). He was charged last year in four separate cases with robbery, assault and bias-motivated crime. His guilty pleas yesterday represent the victims in all four cases. He faces 2 to 12 years in Community Corrections when he is sentenced on June 22, 2010.

Kavean McCloud (08-07-1992) and Alexander Bunting (07-08-1991) are charged with first-degree assault (F3) and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault (F4) in connection with an incident on September 6th, 2009 at 17th and Market Streets. McCloud is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on April 27, 2010. Bunting is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on May 3, 2010.

Kendall Austin (07-08-1991) and Clarissa Lockhart (12-19-1990) were charged with attempted robbery (F5), bias-motivated crime (F4), and third-degree assault (M1) in connection with an incident on September 4th, 2009 at 16th Street and Welton Street. Austin is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on May 11, 2010. Lockhart pleaded guilty last month to attempted robbery and is scheduled to be sentenced on May 11, 2010.

Nyeri Goff (08-06-1991), Landae Woods-King (10-31-1988) and Tabias Graves (01-30-1991) were charged with attempted robbery (F5), conspiracy to commit attempted robbery (F5), and third-degree assault (M1) in connection with an incident on August 11th, 2009 at 30th Avenue and Downing Street. Goff pleaded guilty earlier this month to attempted theft from a person (F6) and is scheduled to be sentenced June 1, 2010. Woods-King, who is also charged in an incident occurring August 23, 2009, is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on May 3, 2010. Graves is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on May 11, 2010.

Blake Patton (dob: 01-08-91), Geno West (dob: 07-11-91) and Donald Thomas (dob: 12-03-86) were charged with first-degree assault (F3) robbery (F4) and bias motivated crime (F4) in connection with an assault and robbery that took place on August 11, 2009 at 13th Avenue and Pearl Street. Patton, who is also charged in two other incidents, is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on June 15, 2010. West is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on May 4, 2010. Thomas, who is charged in a second case occurring August 23, 2009, is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on June 1, 2010.

Ian Curwen (dob: 01-04-78) is charged with robbery (F4) and bias motivated crime (F4) in connection with an incident on July 18, 2009 at 1810 Blake Street and an August 16, 2009 incident at 17th and Market. Curwen is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on April 26, 2010.

George Wright (dob: 07-30-89) is charged with second-degree assault (F4) and two counts of bias motivated crime (F4) in connection with an assault that took place at 1401 19th Street on August 2, 2009. Wright is scheduled for trial June 23, 2010.

Anthony Williams-Jones (dob: 02-21-91) and Torrence McCall (dob:10-27-83), were charged with robbery (F4) and three counts of bias motivated crime (F4) in connection with an assault and robbery that took place at 1701 Market Street on August 16, 2009. Williams-Jones was also charged with possession of a financial transaction device (F6) and pleaded guilty to that count earlier in April; he was sentenced to 2 years probation with 90 days in the Denver County jail. He was given 90 days credit for time served. McCall pleaded guilty earlier to theft from a person (F5) and was sentenced to 2 years probation.

Charles Penny (dob: 02-15-90), Aaron Puller (dob: 01-24-88) and Stephon Allison-Smith (dob: 01-20-89) have been charged with third-degree assault (M1), robbery (F4) and bias motivated crime (F4) in connection with a robbery that took place at 1625 Larimer Street on August 23, 2009. Penny, who was also charged with possession of a financial transaction device (F6) pleaded guilty earlier in April to robbery (F4) and is scheduled to be sentenced May 17, 2010. Allison-Smith, who is also charged with intimidating a witness in a separate case, is scheduled for trial on April 28, 2010.

Deven Cunningham (dob: 01-18-89), Denita Mayfield (dob: 01-16-86) and Bertrande Uhde (dob: 12-31-88) are charged with attempted robbery (F5) and bias motivated crime (F4) in connection with an attack that took place on August 30, 2009 at 19th Street and Blake Street. Cunningham is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on May 18, 2010. Mayfield is scheduled for a disposition hearing on April 27, 2010. Uhde is scheduled for trial May 19, 2010.

James Sherman (dob: 03-17-83) and Merkel Jones (dob: 12-21-86) were charged with robbery (F4) and third degree assault (M1) in connection with an attack on November 18, 2009 at 16th Street and Stout Street. Sherman pleaded guilty last month to theft (F5) and is scheduled to be sentenced May 4, 2010. Jones is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on April 27, 2010.

Allen Ford (dob: 09-13-91) was charged with aggravated robbery (F3) and bias-motivated crime (F4) in connection with an incident that happened August 2, 2010 and is also charged with robbery (F4), bias-motivated crime (F4) and third-degree assault in connection with an incident that occurred on August 23, 2009. Ford pleaded not guilty on April 19 and is scheduled for a disposition/motions hearing on June 15, 2010.
