Probably not Gary Coleman's favorite photo.
Update, 1:15 p.m.: Gary Coleman has died. Read the Washington Post's obituary here, and look below to read our original item, published at 7:29 a.m. this morning.

When last we heard from former Denver resident Gary Coleman, back in February, he'd broken into our Busted Former Child Star Mug Shot Hall of Fame thanks to the bizarre image seen here.

But the laughter prompted by the shot rings hollow this morning. Coleman, 42, is reported to be critically ill in a Utah hospital.

Coleman's brother in law told TMZ.com that Coleman suffered a head injury after a fall. Reuters notes that Coleman, who lives in the Utah town of Santaquin, has been hospitalized two other times this year due to what it describes as "seizure-related maladies." And that's not to mention his night in jail after a domestic-violence arrest, which spurred the photo seen above.

Coleman's time in Colorado, where he moved a few years after the end of his signature sitcom Different Strokes, was considerably more benign. He made news after purchasing a model home in Highlands Ranch -- it was dubbed the "Busy Woman's Dream House" because of all its labor-saving amenities -- and taking a job at Caboose Hobbies, a model-train store.

His fans -- and some remain -- no doubt hope Coleman hasn't reached the end of the line.
