John Elway's ghost haunting LeBron James?

It's not all over, LeBron. But it could be soon.
Last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers, who many NBA experts picked to win a championship this year, were annihilated by the Boston Celtics thanks in large part to a shockingly subpar, seemingly disinterested performance by LeBron James. The Cavs are down three games to two, and Boston has a chance to clinch at home tomorrow.

Which got SI.com's Joe Posnanski thinking about notorious flameouts by Cleveland teams over the years. And yes, John Elway and the Broncos are prominently featured.

Heh, heh.

Here's the paragraph Denver fans will enjoy most:

Yes, The Drive hurt and The Fumble hurt -- those were the two heartbreaking losses for Cleveland against Denver in the AFC Championship Games. John Elway engineered the 98-yard-drive through the Cleveland wind that forced overtime and a Browns' loss. Earnest Byner -- after playing his guts out -- dropped the fumble that cost Cleveland a chance to tie the game in Denver. Both excruciating. Those Browns were probably every bit as good as Denver. But, at the same time, those Browns were more workmanlike than great, and the indispensable player on the field both days was Elway.

Damn straight -- and while it looked as if Cleveland might get its revenge against the Broncos this year in the form of a hunky but questionably skilled QB by the name of Brady Quinn, BQ may now wind up prettying up the bench and that's about it. Meanwhile, LeBron could be on his way out of Cleveland at season's end, particularly if the Cavs break Ohio hearts instead of mounting a remarkable comeback.

Somewhere, John Elway's giant teeth are smiling...
