Sex Offender Management Board rules changed for one offender... and one program

Concern over the legislature's last-second changes to the bill that continues the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board is growing, with an editorial in the Denver Post on Saturday and Peter Boyles continuing to beat the drum on KHOW this morning. Yes, the program that's the target of this last-second change, Teaching Humane Existence, is controversial, as this Westword story from 2002 makes clear. But T.H.E. director Greig Veeder is hardly the only expert upset over this behind-closed-doors maneuver that will allow sex-offenders to choose between three treatment options. Listen, and learn.
