Microsoft store opens tomorrow at Park Meadows: Eat that, Apple!
The wait is over, nerds. Microsoft has announced the location of its third-ever store: the Park Meadows shopping center in Lone Tree. Or, as the center's promo folks like to call it, "the Park Meadows Retail Resort."
Microsoft The AZ store's opening.
Back in April, we told you Microsoft was planning to open a store in the Denver area. But when we asked where exactly, the PC bunch locked their lips and threw away the key.
But not anymore. Now, Microsoft is shouting from the rooftops that its new store opens tomorrow at 10 a.m. They suggest shoppers get there early; the first 1,000 people through the door will get two free tickets to see Demi Lovato of Disney Channel fame in concert at the store at 3 p.m., and the first 100 of those 1,000 will also get a chance to meet her after the show.
There will also be goodie bags full of Xbox games and T-shirts, and an autograph session with pro skateboarder and MTV reality-TV star Rob Dyrdek.
What, no Snooki? But she's so popular! I mean, I had to Google (oops, I mean Bing) both Demi Lovato and Rob Dyrdak to figure out who the heck they are. (I also had to Google "Microsoft search engine" to remember that it was called Bing...)
Before the doors open, Microsoft's chief operating officer, Kevin Turner, will be on hand to cut a ribbon and give away $500,000 worth of computer stuff to the Girl Scouts of Denver, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and KidsTek, a local nonprofit that puts technology in schools.
Again, we'd care more if it were Snooki. Or Justin Bieber, who performed at the opening of the second-ever Microsoft store in Mission Viejo, California; check out the video below. I'm sure there are lots of 'tween girls who'd buy a PC from him any day, if you get my drift.
