4th of July sidewalk shooting in Broomfield not a suicide: Who killed who?

Among the odder reports over the holiday weekend was one involving a possible suicide on a Broomfield sidewalk, with witnesses present. Had someone really offed himself in such a public place in front of others?

Apparently not. The Broomfield Police Department has now decided that the shooting wasn't a suicide and is investigating who fired the weapon -- the victim or one of the other two individuals present. Check out the releases below for more:

On Sunday, July 4, 2010, at 5:37 p.m., officers from the Broomfield Police Department responded to a report of a possible suicide that occurred on a sidewalk in the 3000 block of W. 134th Ave. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased 20 year old male from Broomfield. The male had an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Preliminary investigation revealed that several people were present at the time of the incident. The investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No further information being is released at this time.

Further investigation has revealed the shooting was not a suicide. There were two other individuals present at the time of the shooting. The investigation remains active and is focused on who is responsible for the firing of the weapon. No further information is being released at this time.
