• @johne It was driven by the fact that Michael Roberts thought going to a garbage site like Bleacher Report and reading that stuff and thinking "Wow, this could happen, I sure as hell hope not" was actually news instead of taking it for what it was -- some goofball pajama-wearing clown who has no clue how the NBA works, how the Lakers are operating throwing crap against the wall and seeing if it sticks. Alas, it only stuck with Michael. The Heat got the players it did because it took a nuclear bomb to its roster. After James' self-important "decision" the Heat had all of four players on the roster. The Lakers aren't doing that. And, yes, the Lakers do spend money. But feel free to follow the team and the organization like I have the past 30 years. Phil Jackson took a pay cut to come back. Derek Fisher just took a pay cut in his new contract. Their payroll is down $10 million from last year. And if you read above, I said of the three free agents, the only one the Lakers really want back is Brown, so thanks for pointing that out. And you must be Hadarii. Because you're defending something that has zero traction and is beyond pie in the sky. It's garbage, fantasy league stuff that doesn't work in the real world. So go back to your basement and tuck in the covers. And I would have responded earlier, but your Bleacher Report-esque spelling errors and grammar -- never mind the total crap approach that Anthony should go to the Lakers -- took me some time to get through.

But that was the point of the aritcle, absolutely absurd scenarios becomming a reality. Almost no one believed the heat would be able to aquire wade, lebron, and bosh but they did. Cost cutting? since when have you known the lakers NOT to spend money. In the past several years they've shed out more money than they should have to keep these players; walton, vujacic, bynum, odom, and recently fisher. Every team always wants to cut cost it doesn't mean the lakers won't keep spending. You can point out all the negative aspects of carmelo's game. But you can't deny the fact kobe, pau, bynum, and anthony AS A TEAM would be something special not to mention fearsome. As for powell, mbenga, and brown not being under contract. Brown is close to re-signing with the lakers losing out on raja bell. Options for the lakers to replace powell and mbenga have all gone down the drain. Rumors of Matt Barnes, Tracy McGrady, Anothony Toliver, etc are all dead. At this point the lakers best option are either re-signing powell and mbenga or replacing them with the rookies ebanks and caracter. So you see Hadarii didn't say that mistakenly, but because like all REAL lakers "fan" he is informed of current situations.

First of all, Jones is a Lakers "columnist." In other words, "fan." So OF COURSE he's going to say Anthony should go to the Lakers. Second, Brown, Powell and Mbenga are free agents, so how are they "expendable" if they're not even under contract to the Lakers? And the Lakers really only want Brown back. Third, any follower of the Lakers knows the team is trying to keep costs under control and adding a monster contract that Anthony would want is a nonstarter. Finally, who's to think the Lakers would want a pouty, no-defense, takes-a-lot-of-plays-off player like Anthony anyway? Bleacher Report? Come on.
