On Monday July 5, 2010 at approximately 10:00 AM, Deputy Gentry responded to 3280 West Girard Avenue #7 regarding a possible kidnapping. The deputy met with the reporting party who advised that on July 2, 2010 she authorized her 8-year old son, who she has sole custody, to visit with his paternal grandmother. At some point over the weekend, the grandmother relinquished custody to the paternal grandfather. Of the eight year old child's grandfather, who is divorced from the grandmother.The grandfather is identified as:

The missing child is identified as:
MATTHEW GARCIA
Age 8Matthew was to return to his mother's residence on July 4, 2010. At the time of this report Matthew has yet to be returned to his mother. .
The Sheriff's Office does not believe that Matthew Garcia is currently in jeopardy, however the child must be returned to his mother immediately. Anyone with information regarding the location of Matthew Garcia is asked to contact the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office at 303-795-4711.
