Brian Hoyle ID'd as scooter rider killed in hit & run, Sarah Trujillo busted on vehicular homicide

The scooter rider killed in a hit and run accident near the intersection of Mississippi and Broadway early on August 27 has been identified as 21-year-old Brian Hoyle, and judging by the Rest in Peace Brian J. Hoyle Facebook page that has sprung up in tribute to him, he was well-loved. According to the Denver Police Department release about the incident, Trujillo is being held on suspicion of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence. Yes this could, definitely have been prevented, noone should drive drunk, like she did, and noone should just leave the scene, like she did, but everyones lives were altered from this situation. comments like 'stupid bitch' and 'she should go away for life' are completely misguided. half of the people commenting probably don't know either of the people involved. Sarah's family and Brian's family will have to pay for Sarah's mistake, and they all know that, and she probably does too.
One stupid mistake will cost Sarah and her two children pain for the rest of their lives. By no means am I trying to down play the situation at hand. I didn't know Brian and I am very sorry for what happened. I do however know Sarah and the person she is, which by a lot of standards is not a very good one but she would never intentionally kill another person. I don't feel sorry for Sarah she made the choice to drink and drive and we all know actions have concequences. I do feel very sorry for her children they too have been robbed of a normal life. My heart and prayers go out to the both families. Let us all learn from this mistake and make that vow to never drink and drive as we never know what the future holds.
This article is stupid, and, judging by the comments section, has brought out the ugliest in everyone. Brian will be missed terribly. Statements like "Show the bitch no remorse just like she showed Brian" do absolutely nothing to solve the terribly urgent issue at hand here: the very real problem of drunk driving. More than anything, this post just makes me sad: sad that the writer chose spectacle instead of integrity to get a few more hits, sad that in times like this most of us seem to be moved toward anger and irrationality instead of compassion.
i worked with Bri Bri and even tho we are mad, we gotta realize that she f'd her life up too, if she has kids, they arent gonna know their mom, we are all hurting still and its gonna be a while before we can forgive, but Brian would!

I'm so very sorry from the bottm of my heart. There are no words that can express the loss of a loved one.
Sorry this happened to you. I was also hit head on, one block South of where you died, where a drunk hispanic female crossed onto the wrong side of Broadway and totalled my car. I was lucky that I was in a car and not on a scooter. My sympathies to your family and friends. What a waste. I hope the driver of the other car gets 20+ years to think about what she has done.
Brian was the most amazing person this world has ever known. I'm with Shane and Tosha... I'm not as forgiving of a person as Brian was. I hope Sarah spends the rest of her life rotting in jail. The death penalty would be too good for her.
Brian will be deeply missed. He had a smile that would infect everyone around him. As for Sarah....I'm not as forgiving as Brian. I hope they throw the book at you. You have no idea of the caliber of person you took from this world.
I hate that I knew her or ever spent so much time with her. She destroys everything she touchs. The lives of everyone I know and obviously even those I dont. Trust me, pure evil. She feels no guilt. I feel so bad for this poor kid and his family.

Brian was an amazing person. It's unfair Sarah was so selfish that she stole a beautiful soul from this World. Being only 23 years old, I cannot imagine the guilt she will battle for the rest of her life. I miss Brian <3 Never drink and drive!
I AGREE WITH MISS KAREN brian was an awsome inteligent man i only known him for like a month out in the cannary in alaska he will be gratly missed up in alaska I JUST HATE drunk driveing!!!! I know alot of people that passed away from drunk driveing so i know from expriance . They better ot let her off like they have so many times in the past. She needs to have consequences for her actions. Brian was an amazing person & a great friend. What Sarah doesn't realize is that she took away the one person that would have been able to forgive her. I wish I knew the details about her court date on Thursday. I really think we should make our presence know there.
When will people stop driving drunk. They are very seldom the ones who die, instead they take the lives of others. I agree with Canace they should sit in jail for life.
